Holiday Calendar refers to the calendar of holidays announced by an organization on a yearly basis. Such a calendar usually consists of both national and company holidays, which enables the planning of employee schedules and payslip generation easily.

Compliance Requirements

Holidays have to be synchronized with the legal holidays prescribed under the Indian labor laws.

  • Must comprise national holidays such as Republic Day, Independence Day, and Gandhi Jayanti.
  • Subject to the Shops and Establishments Act (applicable state-wise).
  • The Factories Act, 1948, prescribes some holidays for the employees.
  • Organizations may add some holidays of their own as per the organization’s policies.
