Downshifting is a choice that people make to work fewer hours, take a less demanding position, or earn a lower wage so that they can maintain their work-life balance. Legal Compliance
In India, there is no need of any legal requirement with regard to downshifting. However, for employers to make any alterations to an employee’s job role, salary package, or the hours worked, it must be in accordance with the terms of employment contracts, and the organization’s HR (Human Resources) policy, and must be compliant with all applicable labour legislation regarding wages and hours of work.
