“Dry Promotion” means that the worker receives a higher position, greater duties and levels, but still receives continuing pay and benefits as previously received prior to promotion from their previous designation. Although the job title changes, pay will continue for the employee with no increase. Without clear communication, this situation could adversely affect employees’ motivation.
