Meaning & Definition

Coaching is a growth-oriented process in which a coach will help an employee to develop their skills, improve performance, and increase self-assurance by providing assistance, feedback, and helping the person set goals. Coaching creates an opportunity for employees to learn through ongoing development, assist in solving problems, and develop themselves personally, rather than just receiving instruction or being supervised by an instructor.

All coaching practices should be consistent with both company HR policies and internal employee learning strategies, as well as allow for diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI).

Any employee information used by the coach during their coaching sessions must also comply under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act).
