Short-term leave for employees is referred to as “casual leave” and is available for a variety of reasons, including family problems, work-related issues, or urgent situations that may arise unexpectedly within an employee’s work schedule. Casual leave may also cover short periods of time. There is generally a maximum amount of casual leave available in any given year, as determined by individual company policy.
