Typically, an apprentice is a person who learns through an organisation over a specified length of time in order to acquire knowledge and expertise in the relevant profession, occupation, or trade. An apprentice learns through actual application, that is, on-the-job training coupled with organised classroom-based instruction; however, it is this combination of training and education that ultimately leads to the job readiness of apprentices and earnings during the apprenticeship.
