Aptitude Testing

Definition and Meaning

Aptitude Tests measure how well-suited a candidate’s skills, abilities, and potential are for performing a specific position in a company. They are an objective way to assess a candidate’s logical reasoning capabilities, numeric abilities, verbal skills, and problem-solving capabilities. Aptitude testing used in HR and talent acquisition act as an additional means to evaluate candidates; however, aptitude tests do not replace interviews, reference checks, background checks, and skill assessments.

However:

  • All Tests administered for Candidates should be Fair, Relevant to the Role & Non-Discriminatory.
  • Candidate Consent must be obtained prior to Assessment.
  • Test Data and Results must be managed in accordance with Internal Data Privacy Policies.
