E-Recruitment
Meaning & Definition
E-Recruitment, or online recruitment, is the method or procedure for hiring staff using internet resources such as job boards, employer sites, social networking platforms, and HRMS applications. Through e-recruitment, HR professionals can advertise open positions, process applications, screen potential employees, and correspond electronically, which ultimately creates a faster, more cost-effective, and simpler way of hiring employees.
Importance of E-Recruitment
- Speeds up hiring through less manual labour and automating the tracking of applications.
- Enables companies to reach out to many more candidates who are available in a range of cities and counties in India.
- Reduces hiring costs by providing information, data, and other forms of recruitment tools.
- Increases candidate experience by making it easy to apply via electronic means and get rapid responses.
- Creates better decisions about who is hired through the use of using data analysis, for example, “using filters” and other means.
Legal & Regulatory Considerations
The Digital Personal Data Protection Bill of 2023 constitutes a legal requirement for organisations to comply with this legislation when collecting, storing, and using an individual’s personal information as a result of their application for employment with those organisations.
Fair and non-discriminatory hiring practices must also be followed in accordance with an organisation’s own HR policies.
